His negative and uncooperative attitude is a constant source of irritation to colleagues and customers alike. Try as he might, Malcolm can’t get to the root of the problem. As he himself admits, “Every time I try to raise it with him he just stonewalls - and it’s getting worse, not better”.
The dilemma is that this person’s technical expertise is so valuable that Malcolm wants to harness it, not lose it.
Let’s get down to specifics
Some managers or members of staff, who are competent and effective in many aspects of their role, from time to time need help to resolve a localised but significant or costly issue.
It could be that they've participated in one of our programmes already, but now need guidance and support in one key area – such as managing a particular team member, relationship or situation.
In our Clinics an experienced Performance Coach and Actor Consultant recreate the challenge. Groups of up to six people have the opportunity to bring individual issues, discuss them objectively and work together to create possible solutions.
Each participant then works with our Actor Consultant to try these solutions for themselves. Trial and error is positively encouraged, with our Performance Coach helping each group member discover what will really work for them.
Because these carefully researched clinics are so true to life, participants leave with not only the skills but also the confidence to apply new approaches in their day-to-day roles.
What will this do for you?
Clients tell us they see immediate and sustained improvements in the ability of participants to address and resolve issues identified during the Performance Clinics. Techniques and approaches developed are then applied to great effectiveness on an ongoing basis across a range of work situations.
