Can you tell us briefly what you do at Power Train?
I look after several key clients from Power Train’s portfolio. As soon as a new client is assigned, I will manage all aspects of the assignment. I am responsible for ensuring successful implementation of a project from start-up right through to evaluation and getting those all-important sustainable results for my clients.
What attracted you to work for Power Train?
I first encountered Power Train during a previous life working at Vodafone. Power Train were delivering a series of Leadership and Customer Experience events for two of the contact centres at Vodafone and I was involved with the rollout. I was so impressed with the relationship Power Train developed with Vodafone and the ActNatural product itself that we were delivering. It was refreshing to experience a completely different style of training which created a motivated workforce and most importantly it got the results! Five years later, after a stint working in the public sector and a yearlong trip around the world, I joined Power Train and am now very proud to be part of the team.
What is your most memorable Power Train moment?
Aside from the unforgettable karaoke at the Christmas Party 2009, it has to be an evaluation interview with a newly promoted Manager working for one of our clients. During the interview, the Manager described to me how he owed his promotion entirely to the Power Train event he had attended a year and a half earlier. He explained how he had a massive shock by looking in the mirror and seeing why his normal working behaviour was not doing him any favours. For him it was almost an overnight change in how he conducted himself at work and a year and a half later he received a promotion.
What are your favourite past times/hobbies?
Sky diving (ok not quite a hobby. But I did once sky dive over the Great Barrier Reef!!). I enjoy spending time with friends and family and am considered as a bit of a social butterfly that is hard to pin down. A keen traveller, I like to take advantage of the budget airlines and jet away for weekends in Europe and am lucky to have some friends scattered around to visit. I’m also a big Tottenham Hotspur fan…. Bring on Europe this season!!
What’s the best thing, and the worst thing, about working for Power Train?
The best thing is the variety. A week at Power Train can be spent working on different stages of very different assignments for very different clients in very different industries. The worst thing is Aly’s singing!
