Can you tell us briefly what you do at Power Train?
I’ve got three key responsibilities. Firstly to work with our Executive Management Team to give Power Train its strategic direction, particularly in relation to product design and development. Secondly to function as the ‘back end of the horse’ (Jill Dean claims to be the front end!) overseeing our Commercial, Operations and Marketing functions. Last, but certainly not least, to make key decisions such as whether we all deserve bacon sandwiches on a Friday morning.
What attracted you to work for Power Train?
If I wouldn’t work here, who else would???
What is your most memorable Power Train moment?
Seeing a ‘big idea’ transform into reality – and work! Oh, and after seven years in business, marrying the Client Services Director. She’s now MD so I guess that’s what you’d call succession planning.
What are your favourite past times/hobbies?
Weekend tennis (badly), science fiction (not fantasy) and railways (preferably steam). And always trying to make space for my stuff in the wardrobe (see answer to question 3).
What’s the best thing, and the worst thing, about working for Power Train?
The best? The talent, drive, commitment, perseverance, enthusiasm and humour of those working for us and with us – and the foresight and courage of our clients in supporting such major innovation.
The worst? Not ever being able to pin the blame on anybody else –after all, this was my idea.
