Can you tell us briefly what you do at Power Train?
I work for both Ian and Jill to coordinate all of our business development activities; which includes all sales and marketing projects, from attendance and sponsorship at events to managing our website content and branding. Basically, I make sure all projects, big and small, that fall under sales and marketing transpire.
What attracted you to work for Power Train?
Two things attracted me to Power Train. One, there is a real respect for people throughout the culture of the organisation and it seemed to be popular with it’s clients, I thought this had to be testament to ‘living the values’ and that was really refreshing to see. The second was the challenge of working on new projects; I found it a really exciting prospect that I would be working across the full spectrum of sales and marketing, and I knew it would be interesting!
What is your most memorable Power Train moment?
Hmmm. It has to be during my first week at Power Train, Jill and I were allowed to go into a flight simulator at one of our clients’ sites – it was so realistic I actually felt a little travel sick!
What are your favourite past times/hobbies?
I like to be active and sociable and try out new sports – recently it has been Wake-boarding and Coasteering; however, I am also a big fan of Sci-Fi and Sci-Fantasy, so any books/films/TV shows associated with these take up quite a bit of my time… especially Doctor Who!
What’s the best thing, and the worst thing, about working for Power Train?
The best thing about working for Power Train is working for an organisation that has a good track record – it makes life easier, and it makes me want to go to work everyday. The worst has to be the view from our 4th floor windows on a beautiful sunny day; nothing is more torturous than gazing at the bright blue sky and wanting to be in the sunshine!
